Hi Team,

Can you please tell me if Web service proxy wizard is available in Powerbuilder 2017 standard edition? coz I am not able to view the option under 'Projects' tab. If not, then what is an alternative to it?

Hi,

I am able to see the Web service proxy wizard option now. But when I proceed to create the proxy, and in the process attach the .asmx file in the WSDL file field, I get the attached message and I am not able to proceed further.Any idea why this issue is occuring?

Correct .. the PB2017R2 release can consume web services and also Appeon added support for consuming RESTful web services as well into all editions of R2.

Hi Chris,

Yes I am able to see this version, I have downloaded the standard edition. I need to uninstall that and then install the build you just mentioned.

But you mentioned that the WSs can't be deployed, so can I run from Powerbuilder source to check my code ?

   Wow .. that is very weird!

   You should be able to download the latest release from the Appeon website's User Center under the Downloads section

I recently downloaded Powerbuilder 2017, but not sure why I got the build 1666 instead of 1769.

Do you have any idea?

Hi Kalpana;

  No, that was the GA version (1st release) of PB2017 last year. The current build for PB2017 R2 is 1769.

Hi Kalpana;

  The Web Service proxy wizard (aka the ability to consume WS's) was added to the Standard edition in PB2017R2 released at the end of January 2018.

  In order to build WS's though - you'll need the Cloud Edition or higher of PB 2017.
