Found there is a Windows 10 default setting that is causing all HTTPClient calls from within PowerBuilder much slower if this is enabled in network settings.   "Automatically detect settings" for Proxy setup.   It doesn't seem feasible to have all of our clients disable this setting on their individual workstations.  Is Appeon working on anything to resolve this?  I found this article as well where someone else was having the same issue.

Hi Tina,

Thanks for reporting this problem.

1. We tested and verified in our internal environment but unfortunately didn’t reproduce the issue.

About this issue, from Jorge’s reply below, we cannot be sure that this issue is caused by the Proxy setup.

"I have disabled the "Automatically detect settings" checkbox in the proxy settings and thus the response is fast, just like Posman (does not exceed 1 second). This test was done on two computers and the response was satisfactory; however, on a third machine, speed did not depend on this configuration."

2. Please let us know the PB version you are using. If you are not currently using PB 2019 R2 Build 2353, we suggest that you can upgrade to this version and try again. (Comparing to PB 2017, some related functions have been optimized in this version.) Meanwhile, we would also suggest downloading our PB 2019 R3 Beta, and see if the performance is better in this version.

3. And may we have the detailed results of the test you mentioned in your reply, about the performance data difference between enabling and disabling "Automatically detect settings" for Proxy setup.?

4. And we also suggest that you report this issue to our ticket system: https://www.appeon.com/standardsupport/newbug so that it can be properly received and tracked.

Please also provide a sample PB test case (with PBT/PBL) when you submit it to the ticket system or a VM that could duplicate the issue for us to further analyze it.

Regards,
