How to get the barcode scanner working on a mobile device

Hi

Using Powerbuilder 19 R2 to make a app, I want to scan a barcode and use the information in the app.

Looking online in de docs : https://docs.appeon.com/ps2020/workarounds_and_api_guide/Barcode.html#d0e14394

it seems streight forward, but still does nog work

I installed the appeon_workarounds.pbl in mine workspace that I deploy to the powerserver verion 2020

 

I made a commandbutton, and clickevet with code :

eon_mobile_barcodeex.of_read (ls_data, ai_format)

But nothinh happens on the android phone

Can anyone point me in the right direction

Hi Systeembeheer SFR,

 

You need to make sure that the proper permissions for the camera are in place. When installing the mobile app on the device it should ask you for permissions to use the camera. If not, then perhaps you are not packaging the app or the workspace correctly.

Is there a barcode scanner demo app somewhere with its using the build in camera in a tablet/mobile to scan a barcode and get the code?

Tryed everything but can not get it to work. Checked all the permissions, not even in the latest apeon workspace for mobile

Hi SFR;

   I have an AWS "Test Harness" App that tests out various features of AWS - including the camera and barcode features. You can download it from here ...

http://sourceforge.net/projects/stdfndclass/files/Applications/PowerServer/Mobile

If that works OK. Then feel free to use the PowerScript code.  ;-)
