Hi,

We are using the PB2019 R3 with MSOLEDBSQL Driver. We are going to enable TLS 1.2.

Do we need to make any code changes in PowerScript? or there is also Encrypt=1 in DBParm; is that okay for enabling TLS 1.2?

Could you let us know how exactly we certify our code? or do we need to install any certificate process for that?

Could you please explain the difference between enabling TLS 1.2 and setting encryption to 1?

Note : We already deployed the PBMSOLEDBSQL.dll runtime file with your app.

thanks,

Hi Rajesh;

  Along with that setting, the rest of TLS 1.2 support resides on the SS side configuration wise.

FYI: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb3135244-tls-1-2-support-for-microsoft-sql-server-e4472ef8-90a9-13c1-e4d8-44aad198cdbe

I was going to say the same. It's not the client that negotiates the minimum TLS level, it's the server. The client request a seccure connection and the server tries the higest level dropping down to the minimum level as needed by the client.

Hi Chrish,

Thanks for your reply,

"Along with that setting," you mean that we need to include that encyrpt = 1 in DBParm, right?

Do we need to set encrpt = 1 in DBParm to enable TLS1.2 in SQL Server level?

Thanks
Rajesh
