Hi!

Is it possible to have both version 2017 R2 and 2017 R3 installed on the same machine at the same time?

I believe this is indeed possible as long as you keep the installations completely separate.
Keep version 1 in one set of folders and version 2 in a separate set of folders. Share nothing.

Hi Anders;

  Yes and No.

    Yes where there are different major versions involved as they will have separate folders and more importantly unique DLL's. However, some DLL's are not unique within any combination of PB installations!  surprised

   Normally the answer is No for PB revisions as the PB installer will look for an existing major version and just perform an "update in place" once it sees the current release for a "revision" installed.

  However on the "no" side, there are ways to do this. I have a session next week at the Elevate2018 Conference  on IDE Tips & Tricks where I will cover off the above circumstances and safely show you how to run multiple versions & revisions and to eliminate any DLL conflicts 100%.

Back in the 11.0/11.2 timeframe I did this.

I installed 11.0 and then copied pb110.exe and all .dll files from ...\shared\powerbuilder into a new folder. I then installed 11.2 over the 11.0 files in the normal folders. Running the exe from the special 11.0 folder would work because the files were all in the same folder.
