Resolved Fatal Disk Error. possible code solution?

We have the standard Fatal Disk Error in some of our client sites.

Not all experience this, and it is from previous posts related entirely to disk share loading.

If we change the code so that at start-up it created global variables from objects in each PBD module, and held them in memory, would this force the VM to load all of the libraries into local PC memory at start-up from the server share?

We can install the code on each desktop but it would massively increase our workload to maintain the system.

What version of PowerBuilder are you using?

PowerClient might be a good fit for your app. It would be installed locally but updated automatically.

Adding to what Roland said, PowerClient will not increase your workload to maintain the system. No code changes required and it is a standard feature of PowerBuilder 2019 R3 and newer. Here is more info: https://www.appeon.com/products/power-client

Hi Kevin;

  This has been a common failure issue since PB 1.0 when the App is hosted on a network based File Server or the local App is reading or writing from a network based shared drive. Unfortunately under these configurations, the PB App is at the mercy of your network's stability.

if you want it fixed,  install the code on each desktop
