Resolved Computer very slow when editing scripts with embedded SQL.

I am using PB19 R2 against SQL server database.

My problem is that when I edit a script containing embedded SQL like "select count(*) into :ll_ant from sometable;" it takes 2-3 seconds for every keystroke - my colleagues does not have the same problem, so probably something with my computer, anybody have an idea about what can be wrong?

Ok, soon we will upgrade to R3 maybe that will help.

I have seen similar delays in the IDE in various Painters when no active Database Profile is connected. It's as if the IDE repeatedly searches for an active database connection over and over and over (and over)... and the process takes several seconds before it gives up.

It would be nice if the IDE instead gave a message and allowed you to respond with "Ignore" along with a "Don't ask me again" checkbox option. The status would clear/reset once a successful connection to a database profile was explicitly initiated by the developer.

I can't reproduce it on our side even without active Database Profile in PB IDE. Are there any special system options in your PB IDE? Can you provide a detailed repro steps for us? Thanks.

Are your colleagues using the same driver and connection profile for the connection to sqlserver in the powerbuilder ide?

Hmm, was just a guess. So far I haven't found the latest version of 2019 to be that slow, but have only been using it shortly. Crossing my fingers.

I know this sounds silly, but a lot of times doing a full uninstall and then clean reinstall resolves this unexplainable issues.

FWIW: I found 2019 R2 very slow too, when editing scripts. Just clicking on an event to open it takes waaaaay more time than in previous versions. Not sure about R3 yet.

I do have 3 different versions of PB installed: 12.6, 2017 R3 and now 2019 R3.
