Using PowerBuilder 2019 R2 Build 2328 Oracle 12g and 18, with PowerServer 2019 Build 2170

I can deploy two out my three applications and run within Goggle Chrome. My one application is throwing this error, the pop up window says:

Error During Initialization

External Function Calls will Not be valid during This Session, and checking the log I get:

clientDllMsg : You are running the Web application (particularly OCX/DLL/OLE files) in an incompatible IE browser. The OCX/DLL/OLE related functions may not work correctly in this environment. Do you want to continue?

Is this a set up issue for the third application? There are no external DLLS/OCX/OLE calls within the application.

Hi Bryant;

  I would try removing the apps from your PS2019 Server. Then restart IIS, do a full build, then redeploy the apps again.  HTH

Thanks for trying that suggestion. Hmmm ... Might be worth a support ticket.

I'm not having those issues with my web/mobile apps but, I moved them on to PS2020 when using PB2019R2.

PS2020 is included with the PB2019R2 "Cloud Pro" edition.

Hi Bryant,

Does this application work well on IE? Does this application use external DLLs? If yes, please use Dependency Walker (depends.exe) to check and see if there is any DLL’s dependency file missing, please refer to the article below to solve it.

If there is still the issue, please provide the detailed error screenshot, and please refer to the article below to provide the PowerServer log and PowerServer error log for us too, thanks.

Hi Chris and ZhaoKai;

Found the issue, part of it is that I am working from home, which means I have many layers of VPNS between me and the world.

I un-installed PB 2019 and PowerServer, and started over. I started without any VPN connections to my corporate setup, as I had already safely downloaded the files onto my computer. I re-installed PB 2019 R2 Build 2328 and PowerServer (PB Edition) 2020 Build 2323.00. Re-configured my application in PB 2019, did a full deploy, and (Joy!) my application is working in PowerServer.

Thanks for the help though, always appreciated.

take care, stay well.

Bryant
