IM v10.5
Windows VM, Windows 10, 64 bit platform

We have installed IMv10.5.
It works and saves to Excel, text, and so on.

I'm trying to SAVE ROWS AS to PDF.
I have installed GhostScript 9.5, and updated the PATH to include the gs BIN and LIB folders.
We've also installed a customized PDF witer called CSGI PDF WRITER.

I've tried both options in Printer Setup from the FILE menu, to no avail.

It's not working. All files are saving with zero bytes of data.

How can I fix this?

Thanks,
Olan

Hi Olan;

  Have you tried creating a "Sybase DataWindow PS" printer and making sure that you used the GhostScript supplied .INF as that printer's driver?

Thanks for the response, Chris!!

1) "Sybase DataWindow PS
    Is this different from what's shown below in line one?

   If so, how do I create it?

2) I could not find a GhostScript supplied INF file in either the "gs" or the "GPLGS" folders.

Olan

Hi Olan;

  FWIW: your GS is rather an old version. Just an FYI.

The INF should be in the LIB folder, as follows (from my PC):

If your "Sybase DataWindow PS" printer was added to your MS-Windows machine via the GS supplied .INF, then this is how it should look ...

The last thing to check on is that your IM Forms and/or Reports (aka DWO's) do not specify a printer. Just the export option "Distill!".

=> PS: If your on a 64bit version of MS-Windows do not install GS 32bit. It must be the GS 64 bit version!!!!

OK.

I have installed the 64 bit version of Ghostprint v5.53.3 printer on to the VM.

To test it, I opened and tried to print the INF file.

If failed. There's no information on WHY it failed that I could see.

Here's the "See what's printing" window:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh, the DWO does NOT have a printer listed, and the Data Export tab is set as follows:
The Printer Setup is:
And the "Save rows as PDF" fails also:
It fails also. NOW what?  :/
Thanks again,
Olan
Hi Olan;
   I just upgraded to the same GS release as you - 9.53.3. All is working great from both IM and PB 2019R3 editions. Here is what I did ...
  1. Uninstalled old GS
  2. Removed all PDF printers
  3. Downloaded the GS 9.53 64 bit edition
  4. Ran the GS installation "As Admin"
  5. Added "Sybase DataWindow PS" printer and made sure that I used the GhostScript  9.53.3 supplied .INF as that printer's driver. Note: At the end of the Add Printer wizard - make sure that you over-ride the "GhostScriptPDF" default name to "Sybase DataWindow PS".
  6. Add the GS "Bin" file to your O/S's System Path (ie: C:\Program Files\gs\gs9.53.3\bin)
  7. Create the O/S environment variable GS_DLL as follows ... GS_DLL=C:\Program Files\gs\gs9.53.3\bin
  8. Start IM and run a Report (make sure that "Export" option is set to Distill!)
  9. Use the SaveAs option in the Report Painter's Preview Pane from the RHMB's pop-up menu
  10. Select PDF as the export option and enter a name. You should then get the following (for example):
