Resolved Automated testing with the Ribbon Menu

Hi,

Looking for feedback on how to proceed. We have automated testing using TestComplete. Objects on the Ribbon Menu appear invisible in TestComplete. (Please see photo attached). Any suggestions / ideas on how to have these objects (buttons) visible so we can continue to build out our automated testing?

Earlier today I found this URL on the TestComplete vendor's web site:

I find it interesting that page states you can create and run tests with PB 12.0, 12.5, 12.5.2 and 12.6, and the page was most recently changed yesterday (October 5, 2023). PB 12.0 was released in 2010 and PB 12.6 was released in 2014. It would appear their support for PowerBuilder could be woefully out of date. It's possible it may not support themes in PB.

Hi Chris, I suggest escalating this to TestComplete.  Seems their product has not been enhanced to detect the new RibbonBar control we added to PB.

Hi Armeen;

As an alternative, I would suggest that Chris contact the AscentialTest software testing vendor to see if their automated testing tool product supports the Ribbon Bar control. FYI: https://ascentialtest.novalys.net/EN/lp-powerbuilder-testing-tool.html
