We have two userobjects uo_fms_picturebutton and uo_fms_picturebutton2 which are inherited from the standard picturebutton control.    4 of these are placed on our ancestor window object w_genapp_base, 2 of each type called cb_1,cb_2,cb_3_cb_4.  We would like to have different theme properties specified for each of these picturebutton control types,  e.g. uo_fms_picturebutton is always white and uo_fms_picturebutton2 is always blue.   I have a standard themes file with a picturebutton entry and a custom themes file but i am not clear how I specify the ancestor object nodes in the customs theme file. I cannot get anything to work.   Has anyone had experience of overriding themes for ancestor standard visual objects?

Hi Mark;

  The PB "Theme" feature currently does not support theming ancestors. Only at the concrete (working) level objects. There is an enhancement ticket request in the system for this feature. However at this time, I have not heard of "if" or "when" this featrure will be added.

Regards ... Chris

Chris, Thanks a lot for the quick response - that makes sense based on what I was finding. If I explicitly reference an ancestor object control on the final window where it is implement all is well but I cannot make the change globally.

Hi Bhavesh ... there are planned updates to the Theme feature. However at this time, Engineering has not provided me with exactly what these upgrades will be in PB2022 nor, when they will arrive (ie: GA, R2 or R3).
