Resolved Another offline activation question

After our network folks eventually and begrudgingly allowed the transfer of the encrypted license files off and back on for offline activation.  I ran into my next challenge...

One of the supposed "features" is to be able to have an office desktop and a travel laptop utilize the same license.  I'm trying to set up my travel laptop so it's ready to go out the door at a moments notice.  Again, this will be an offline activation.  But it is not allowing me to add it to the license.  Isn't it supposed too?  How's this going to work?

Only the online license type allows for such floating of a license.  The offline license type would limit you to one machine.  As such, it is strongly recommended that customers use the online license type whenever possible.  Just FYI, the online license type can work without Internet connection for up to 5 days after you are logged into PB on a particular machine.

Sorry to hear online licensing is not an option.  I understand compared to previous license policies of Sybase our offline license policy is not as attractive.  But for most customers (that can accept online license type) our new policies and approach is much more flexible and most importantly it is compatible with virtualized/remote desktop environments.  Anyway, I know this doesn't help you.  Sorry about that again.

And y'all have other issues in this scenario, since we now must have multiple licenses per individual.  The website will not allow me to assign another license to same individual.  I should say...  Assign a user to more than one license.  Going to have to make up hotmail, etc. email accounts to get around this flaw.  :/

That should be an easy fix for the folks at APPEON.



Before setting up multiple accounts, I'd file a bug report  with an URGENT status and see if they can whip thatch ange out the door for you!
