Resolved 3D graphs no longer work

PB 2022 1878

3D graphs don't work.  I uninstalled PB2021 and since then they don't seem to work in PB2022.  I'm 50% sure that they worked in PB2022 prior to the uninstall, but maybe not.

 

**NOTE this is from the EXE not the IDE.  It DOES work via the IDE

 

I also have an earlier version of my application in a PB17R3 (1858) on the same machine (an exe).  The 3D graphs do work with that exe.  So it isn't for lack of the directx drivers.

 

The install method i use for this is to copy all runtime distributables into the exe directory.   So it seems like a runtime dll may be missing from the runtime directory?

Hi Mike;

  I completely uninstalled the PB2022 beta on all my machines (W10 & W11) & then reinstalled the GA release. All the 3D graphing works properly for me.

Note1: 3D graphing is not supported in 64bit mode.  :-(

Note2: Your PC(s) must have the DirectX Microsoft software installed.

Is lack of 3D graphing in 64bit mode documented anywhere?

Hi Brad;

I think that this restriction was first documented by Sybase / SAP in v12.6 (1st 64bit version of PB). Appeon took over the PB code line from SAP under 12.6 in 2016. We have not enhanced the DW graphing since then. So that is why 64bit graphing is still 2D.

Note that graphing enhancements are on the PB roadmap for 2022Rx.

** the 3D graphs work when running from the IDE.  They do not work running from the exe.
