This product to make reports, you have to buy it separately .... you are promoting another company or it will come with PB 2019 R3, Ultimate Suite has a special price for those of us who have a PB license

Hi Luis;

   Some other ways to improve reporting and charting (graphing) in PB Apps beside the "awesome" PB Ultimate product are ...

1) Use 3D graph rendering feature in the DW Painter

2) Use the new Web Browser control in PB 2019R2 (and higher) in parallel with Google Graphs.  FYI:  https://community.appeon.com/index.php/qna/q-a/graph-object-contemporary

3) Use the PBToolBox 3rd party product.  FYI: http://pbtoolbox.home.blog

HTH

Regards ... Chris

Hi Luis,

Actually, the session "Modernize Existing Datawindows and Reports" was using PowerChart.

PowerChart is a PB control, embedding Chart.js in a way that is transparent for the PB developer:
  • No javascript skill required, the implementation is the same as any other graph datawindow, with the usual settransobject() and retrieve() functions.
  • No coding required to design the graph, it's done with a dedicated painter.
  • No internet connection required, nothing to deploy but PB librairies.
PowerChart is part of the PC control library called Ultimate Suite, it is not delivered with PB.

HTH,
Christophe

Apache ECharts is what we demo’ed in the keynote.  This is completely free and open source.  We will also provide sample app to show how to implement this in PB 2019 R3.  I recommend you watch the keynote demo carefully: https://youtu.be/u6xFgAwptWs?t=4644

Whether ECharts / Google charts is the way to go, in future else Appeon is having plans to modernize in-built charting features ? This will be a limitation for those who do not have internet connection ...

Apache ECharts doesn't require Internet connection. This is why we chose this one over Google charts.
