Resolved Datawindow Header Theming using PB 2019 R3 theme

Hi All,

I am implementing the use of new Powerbuilder Themes in our application.  For certain Datawindows we use a header with colour background and a different font colour to the rest of the DW.

In the supplied themes that install with PB there seems only to be the ability to set Header Background and Font colour for Grid- & Cross-style DWs.  Is it not possible to set a different Header background using the theme for all other DW type?

Hi Michael,

Sorry to let you know it’s not supported to set different background colors for other DW types using Theme.
Currently, only Grid- and Cross-Style DW support setting the Header background color using Theme because the Headers of these two types of DW are quite special, as each label in the Header band is corresponding to one column in the detail band.
As for other DW types, there is a wide variety of content that the customer might add to the Header band and it could be a lot of content, so if we set a consistent color for other DWs, it might not be what they want, which is why we didn’t support this in Theme.

If you want to set the Header background color for other types of DW, you can work it around via Expression or Modify.
