In older versions of PB (e.g. 5, 7), when you right-clicked “Build Runtime Library” in the IDE, it could regenerate several libraries that it thought it needed to. This often caused us problems such as “bad runtime function reference”. To get around this, we bought PowerGen (E.Crane Computing), which created the PBDs without touching other PBLs.
We now want to move our projects from a workspace to a solution, which PowerGen doesn’t support. However, I noticed that when I run “Build Runtime Library” on the solution, it doesn’t seem to regenerate anything.
So I wonder whether there is any reason to stay on the workspace (and keep paying for PowerGen) to handle a problem that may no longer apply.
What is your opinion?
