Hi Folk

I am successfully creating a PDF from a quite a complex nested report which contains images as well as text. Unfortunately, even if I reduce the size of the images down to the minimum some of the generated PDF's are over 50MB which is far too large.

If I print the large images using the Microsoft print to PDF option and create a new file, a 100MB file becomes a 6MB file.

I know the PDF stuff is in beta at the moment, so I am not complaining, if I can get the size down without having to ask the users to manually print to another file I will be happy.

Anyone have any bright ideas? I can set the printer before printing but I can not nominate the output file name - unless some one knows how?

Maybe a PDF compressor I could call?

(I'd attach an example but we are limited to 20MB)

Cheers

Brett

The problem of the file size has got to be because of the images.  Did you set the image property to JPG (by default it is BMP that is huge)? https://docs.appeon.com/pb2022/datawindow_reference/XREF_19761_Export_PDF_NativePDF_ImageFormat.html

PB2022/1892

NativePDF and A4

I have some pages with 10 nested datawindows which are conditionally displayed. There might be 10 - 15 instances of these pages. I also attach PDF's to the end of the main PDF document but the document size seems only increase by the size of the attachment so that does not seem to be an issue.
