I have the PDF's for the following PFC documentation:

  • PFC Library Object Reference, Part 1 (608 pages, dated 2001)
  • PFC Library Object Reference, Part 2 (908 pages, dated 2001)
  • PFC Library User's Guide (310 pages, dated 2003)

These pubs are admittedly old and the PFC has undergone a few changes since these were published, but I still find them useful from time to time and maybe you will, too.

The user's guide document can be found on the web (I even found a copy of it buried in the Appeon Q&A web site recently!), but the two Object Reference volumes that I find the most useful are hard to find.

If you would like to have a copy of these, I will be glad to email you a zip file containing all three PDF's (I do not have a publicly-accessible drop box/folder, sorry). The zip file is 10MB. Send a request to me at: jfauss-at-cox-dot-net. Please mention "PFC docs" in the subject to make sure I see your request. All inquiries will remain confidential.

Update: I have created a Google Drive account and uploaded these three PDF's to a public folder there named "PFC Documentation". Here is the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1OWkDzGow2COlnA266eb9ZVaqZrNIJ6Vx?usp=sharing

Please don't add these 3 pdf files to https://github.com/OpenSourcePFCLibraries/docs since they are already there in a newer version (PB 9 instead of 8).
The naming is not that clear, but they are there: pfcoref1.pdf, pfcoref2.pdf and pfcug.pdb.

regards.

Say, I seem to remember that there was a 'windows help' type file with the PFC back in the PB9 days.  Anyone care to share this?  Even though it would be in the old help format there are readers which can be used so we can take advantage of search capabilities within the help.

If you look at https://github.com/OpenSourcePFCLibraries/2019/tree/master/help you will see that both hlp & chm are still there. Of course the hlp is useless.

Hi John;

FWIW: I would suggest contacting Bruce Armstrong and have him add this documentation to the "official" PFC Website. Then every PB Developer who goes there could see it (more visible) grab it from here easier.  Just my $0.02. Food for thought.

Regards ... Chris

No need to contact Bruce. This is open-source project other people can contribute directly.

Hi John,

PFC is open-source and hosted on GitHub.  How about adding these docs to GitHub as well?

https://github.com/OpenSourcePFCLibraries

And here is tech article how to contribute to the project.

Thanks,

I've added an old pbpfc110.chm file that I had plus the 3 files John posted.

I had to do a "fork request" to be able to do that, cross my fingers that it worked.

The chm is included to https://github.com/OpenSourcePFCLibraries/2019/tree/master/help. It was always there. But I don't know if it's updated.

I had forgotten to add these, so I really appreciate you letting me know this, Miguel. Thank you!

Yw, Hi John, I initially added yours, but later took them out. There's already a newer version of these 3 documents (pb 9 instead of 8) on the pfc github docs site. https://github.com/OpenSourcePFCLibraries/docs

regards.
