Resolved Can't recognize Grid Elements (Tables) on Appeon Web app for UI testing

Hi Colleagues,
 
I'm discovering UI test automation of Appeon Web application.
 
For now I faced with the issue, that all known tools doesn't recognize many controls from Appeon Web app.
As an example, we got EonDataWindow object for Tables, and couldn't get access inside this object to get cell values.
 
From Appeon web site I found a link that UFT should be used for UI testing - https://www.appeon.com/support/documents/appeon_online_help/2017/testing_web_app/ch01s03s03.html
But, there is the same objects recognition issue for UFT as for other tools.

Is there any way to work with Table object in any UI automation tool?

Image comparison could always work to get some data.



But what should I do to be able to navigate inside Grid Table for example, or to work with other elements inside DataWindow? Only click them by coordinates?

Also with image recognition/comparison we are restricted to screen resolution/OS/etc.

We don't have a feasible workaround for this currently. But we will record it as a requirement in our CR pool, I will get back to you once we have a plan to support this feature.

Hi Oleg,

It is required to set application run mode to 'Test Mode'(AEM > Application > Client Features > [your application] > Run Mode).

And the datawindow is considered as a whole object to be recognized by UFT, it is difficult to recognize every object, We don't have a feasible workaround for this.

Yes my Appeon Web application is running under TestMode.



Looks like there's no way to get inside DataWindows object :(
