SmtpClient.XOAuth2AccessToken using OAuthClient and Azure - incorrect client secret

Hello,
Were trying to send emails using the SMTPClient object
The SMTPClient is working well with providers like ONE.COM, Gmail, etc.
For Outlook.com adresses the SMTPClient object needs an XOAuth2AccessToken provided by Azure.
Getting a valid Access token from Azure using the OAuthClient object is regrettably rejected.
Azure insists my client secret is incorrect, but the correct key is supplied.
Could this be a Unicode problem?

Error Code 7000215
Message Invalid client secret provided. Ensure the secret being sent in the request is the client secret value, not the client secret ID, for a secret added to app '{identifier}'.
Remediation Developer error - the app is attempting to sign in without the necessary or correct authentication parameters.


Any ideas on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.
