Hi,
We are using Appeon PowerBuilder 2022 R3 Build 3542 and recently migrated our application from a traditional menu bar to a Ribbon Bar. We have a question about keyboard shortcut behavior.
Scenario:
A Ribbon button is assigned the keyboard shortcut Shift + P.
We have an editor/data-entry sheet where users can type text.
The Ribbon button associated with Shift + P is unrelated to this editor sheet.
The Ribbon button with Shift+P shortcut is in a panel that is enabled but not visible for this editor sheet.
Observed behavior:
When Caps Lock is enabled and the user presses P, the character "P" is entered into the editor as expected.
When the user presses Shift + P to enter an uppercase "P", the character is not entered into the editor. Instead, it appears that the Ribbon shortcut is being intercepted.
Is this the expected behavior for Ribbon Bar keyboard shortcuts in PowerBuilder? Specifically, are Ribbon shortcuts processed globally before the editor control receives the key input, even when the shortcut is unrelated to the active editor?
Is there a way to circumvent this?
Thanks.
