Hi,
Sorry for lengthy content.
I have queries related to PowerServer license and its pricing model. Can you kindly check and answer each question.
We have a 10 member Powerbuilder team.
We migrated to PB2022R3 a year ago and continuing our development work using the same.
Recently, our customers have been inquiring about deploying our application in the cloud, which is currently only achievable through Citrix.
As PowerServer can convert a PB application into a cloud native app, we like to know more about the costs involved for our development team and for our customers.
My queries related to development environment as below.
1.How many PowerBuilder Cloud Pro licenses are required to convert my application to a cloud-native architecture?
2.Does each developer require their own license?
3.In a development environment (internal app servers, not in the cloud), can I install PowerServer and deploy the converted application? If yes, how many concurrent users will the deployed application support in the development environment?
Questions related to customer environment
1. After the application is converted to a cloud-native application using PB Cloud Pro, is it the development team's responsibility to deploy it in the customer's production environment as well?
2. Currently, in our production environment, approximately 2,000 users access our application concurrently (some customers using thin and some using thick clients). I would like to understand how many PowerServer licenses our customers need to purchase and the annual cost they would incur to support 2,000 users.
Your quick response will be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Ganesan R
