Hi Team,
We have an iPharmacy application developed using PowerBuilder 2019 R3 Build 2728 (Runtime Version 19.2.0.2728).
Recently, the application was deployed on Citrix Workspace App LTSR 2507.1 for Windows running on Windows Server 2022. Users access the application through Citrix sessions.
Since the migration, the application has been experiencing random crashes, and the attached Event Viewer logs are captured during the crash.
Background
The same application was previously running on Citrix hosted on Windows Server 2016 without any issues.
Due to the frequent crashes on Windows Server 2022, the client is considering moving back to Windows Server 2016.
I received the following recommendation from another Appeon forum discussion:
PB.INI
[Application]
ACCESSIBILITY=0
UseHwnd=No
[Data Window]
Accessibility=0
The suggestion was to place this PB.INI file in the same directory as our application executable on the Citrix server.
Questions
1. Has anyone experienced similar crashes with PB 2019 R3 Build 2728 on Citrix / Windows Server 2022?
2. Is it safe to recommend the above PB.INI changes to the client to resolve this issue on Windows Server 2022? Are there any known side effects?
3. Our application uses PFC and includes external function calls such as:
GetWindowText
GetWindowTextW
Could these API calls contribute to crashes or compatibility issues on Citrix / Windows Server 2022?
4. We are currently migrating the application to PowerBuilder 2022 R3 Build 3356. Has anyone observed that upgrading to PB 2022 R3 resolves similar Citrix/Windows Server 2022 crash issues?
5. Are there any additional runtime settings, patches, or Citrix-specific recommendations that we should consider for PB applications running on Windows Server 2022?
Any guidance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
--Sachi...
