- Previously we have one composite report(inside 5 data window object)
- As per the requirement we have added one template report as previous page to the existing or above report.
- For this we have created a Nested Report and inserted the template report as the first page and retains the existing report as the second report.
- dw_nested_print we have created this new report
- Inside the dw_nested_print we have inserted dw_1 as the template dw_2 as the existing coposite report(inside 5 data window objects)
- we have hiding /un hiding functionality using the following dot notation syntax we have achieved the same.
-
userobject_print.dw_nested_print.object.dw_2.object.dw_3.object.column_name.Visible='1'
- But we have another sorting functionality is failing.
- That is they taking the sorting order from the Entry screen using the dat window syntax and passing the same to dw_2.dw_3 as the existing composite report(inside 5 data window objects)
We need to apply the sorting expression to using the dot notation syntax. we need to sort for dw_3
userobject_print.dw_nested_print.object.dw_2.object.dw_3.object.sort=ls_sorting_expression
How to set the soring expression for nested data window using dot notation.
We have tried another approach we have created the compute filed with the data window object and included the compute field in the sorting list of the data window design. And we tried to set the sorting expression to the compute field that also not working for nested report. please refer the following syntax.
String ls_sort_setting
ls_sort_setting='Model_Name A'
userobject_print.dw_nested_print.object.dw_2.object.dw_3.Object.c_sort.Expression=ls_sort_setting
dw_print.setsort("")
dw_print.sort()
dw_print.sort()
dw_print.groupcalc()
Kindly provide the solution to achieve the sorting for nested data window report.
Not able to provide any further reply on this because below message is stopping me.
Due to the above issue i am replying with this first question.
Hi Rene,
Good Day!!!
The below script return value is -1 and not supported with Nested Report.
userobject_print.dw_nested_print.GetChild ("dw_2", ldwc_dw2)
ldwc_dw2.GetChild ("dw_3", ldwc_dw3)
Due to this issue, we have written Dot Notation script to achieve the hide/unhide functionality in Nested Report.
Kindly provide your valuable inputs to achieve this in nested report.
Regards,
