Something that bothers me the most is making changes to menus always causes headaches.
If I open a menu that has totally worked before: it compiles, it works, etc., and I make a simple change like add a shortcut key to an existing menu item, without fail, I will get a compiler error on save about some other menu item needing to be created in the context of its within object -- which, if you look at the source, IS created within its menu item -- and which in the graphic editor, you don't have control over anyway, and besides, that menu item was never touched.
And after every change -- even minor ones -- I have to do a full rebuild because even the runtime is unable to recognize the menu.
After all this time I don't get why menus are so temperamental.
Any advice how to fix these issues when they appear would be great.
Powerbuilder 2025 R2 -- but we've always had these issues. And no, we're not converting to ribbon bars because they take up too much screen space.
