I'm looking for an eventual retirement from my business, which sells two software programs we wrote in PB to small to mid-sized churches and charities.
It's a high volume, low price business, so I'm not necessarily looking to get a lot of money for the business. What I'm much more concerned about is having a good path from here for our around 10,000 users - ideally by someone continuing to develop and sell the same programs. Another obvious option is to sell to a competitor with comparable software at a comparable price, who would transition our users to their software, but so far we really haven't found such a competitor - most of them make software that is either only for churches or only for charities, or at a significant multiple of our prices.
I have two full-time employees, who ideally I would also like to be able to stay employed in the business, and I'm also willing to stay involved for quite a while. (I still know the most about our code and our business!)
I think the ideal buyer would be someone with good PB knowledge, a reasonable amount of experience running a small business (or at least being very involved in that running), and also ideally someone with a desire to help the non-profit sector that we serve.
The business is quite profitable, but not wildly so, and has had steady but slow growth.
