The company I work for has purchased perpetual PowerBuilder licenses for the 1990's and we do not have any documentation for these licenses due to the 'passage of time'.
The parent company is divesting the business unit that uses the PowerBuilder licenses that were deployed in the legacy system that runs PowerBuilder as a portion (sub-system) of this legacy system.
Any suggestions as to 'how to stay compliant' with licensing and having these perpetual licenses assigned to the divested business unit to continue using these licenses?
Note: The current PowerBuilder system runs without the need to upgrade and support is not required going forward. Actually the legacy system ihas been around so long that it would be a substantial risk to the business unit to make any changes. We're simply trying to ensure that the licenses are legally assigned to the business unit running PowerBuilder going forward.
