Hi Experts,
We are in such a situation and have to install 2017 PBVM & PowerGen on Windows Server Core 2008 for build process.
As per Windows documentation " Server Core installations are only intended to run server roles and cannot be used to run applications such as a Microsoft Office suite or any other applications that depend on a graphical user interface.
In other words, there is no desktop in Server Core, by design. While maintaining the capabilities required to support traditional business applications and role-based workloads, Server Core does not have a traditional desktop interface. Instead, Server Core is designed to be managed remotely through the command line, PowerShell, or a GUI tool (like RSAT or Windows Admin Center)."
Our requirement is, We want to build PB library from PB object using PowerGen tool using command line and then creating a Build from PowerGen by using command line but PowerGen uses PB runtime dll's in order to compile/regenerate the PB object to pbl hence, we need to install both PBVM and PowerGen on windows core server
Can anybody share their experience or is this feasible..?
TIA,
Syed.
