We are using the automation tool TestComplete to automate testing of the Powerbuilder application.
During object recognition, TestComplete is able to identify field labels; however, the associated input controls are not accessible because they appear to have their Visible property set to False from the automation tool's perspective. As a result, TestComplete cannot interact with or populate these input fields.
We have observed that this functionality worked correctly in PowerBuilder 2017 (PB v17), where TestComplete was able to recognize and interact with the input controls. However, after migrating to PowerBuilder 2022 (PB v22), the same controls are no longer visible or accessible to the automation tool.
Could you please advise whether there were any changes in PowerBuilder 2022 related to control visibility, UI automation, accessibility, or object exposure that could affect TestComplete's ability to recognize input fields?
Additionally, is there any configuration, patch, runtime setting, or recommended approach in PowerBuilder 2022 that would allow these controls to be visible and recognized by automation tools as they were in PowerBuilder 2017?
