Hello,

I have a DW with a nested report (report object), in the DW that contains the nested report there are columns with tooltip but in execution the tooltip is not shown when passing the cursor.

Do I still need to activate some property? PB error? How should I do to show the tooltip of the dw that are in a nested report?

Thank you.

Hi Edward, when you upgrade to PB 2019 R3, you can implement FREE & OPEN-SOURCE charting solutions like Apache ECharts that integrates with the data of your DataWindows.  This will do what you want... check out this Webinar: https://youtu.be/Gyl9wBDMmts?t=786

I think Armeen meant this one: https://youtu.be/Gyl9wBDMmts?t=786 and/or this other: https://youtu.be/u6xFgAwptWs?t=4859

Thanks but I am using PB2017 and it is simply to show a tooltip of a DW that is inside a report object.

Hi Eduardo

Personally I would not have expected tooltips to work in a report, when you nest DWs as you describe the DW painter assumes it's a report and not data entry. My guess is that the tooltip stuff only works in data entry.

I'm not sure how you would emulate this functionality as I'm also pretty certain that you cannot easly pick up with dwo object is under the mouse in a nexted report. Perhaps a generic tooltip describing the stuff youo need coudl be on the report itself? It depends on what you are really tyring to achieve.

Sorry I'm not much help.

David

Hi Guys;

I would suggest trying this as an alternative (requires some coding though) ...

Thanks a lot, I have it implemented inside my application but it doesn't work for a report object.

I still think it is a lack of implementation of functionality in PB

Hi Eduardo ... thanks for the feedback. I agree, PB's tooltip feature could use a little more "beefing" up and implementation consistency. Please email product@appeon.com with your enhancement suggestion.
