Hi Sir or Madam,

Recently I found that when the app shortcut that created by the launcher, once went missing/deleted, and when using the Http://11.11.11/dcl/index.html, it could never get the launcher button to install the shortcut again. Can this be improve? I assume that user do not know how to uninstall the launcher or the user do not have right to remove launcher.

Please advice.

Thank you.

Hi Sim Joo, Normally if the shortcut/icon goes missing it is your anti-virus software deleting it. If my guess is right then you should resolve the problem with the anti-virus software so it doesn't keep deleting it.

Hi master,

Therefore, what you mean, is, there is no automatic solution for putting back the missing icon again. We need human manually to remove the <appname> in PBApps folder and run the link again? Please confirm. Thank you.

Hi Sim;

Your lost icons restoration options are ....

1) Manually recreate the missing short-cut

2) Copy the existing short-cut from a good machine over to the missing one.

3) Delete the PS App from the App user's machine and the next time the run the PS App, the CAL will recreate it.

HTH

Hi Sim;

  There is no icon for the launcher, only the PS app itself.

   I've lost the App icon the odd time due to an O/S update, accidentally deleting the icon, etc. However once that happens, the App icon will not rebuild itself automatically. You would have to restore (recreate) it manually. You can force the App icon to return by deleting the PS App locally. It should be in the \<UserID>\AppData\Roaming\PBApp\?? folder.  HTH

Hi Chris,

Thanks. I tried renamed the folder to PbAppstttt, but it didnt allow to, complaining that "THe action cant be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program".

I checked, i dnt see any open. Do you have any idea why? Please help. Thanks.

Yes, because the CAL program is running in the background with a Write lock on ir. You need to leave the PBApps folder alone & only delete the subfolder(s) of that one that reflect the actual PS App name.
