Hi,

I've decided to share a little tool that I made somewhere in the 90'ies in PB5, now migrated to 2021 latest build: I can make older versions if anyone would like. I've added a PB2019 R3 version (29th Jan. 22)

It's useful for finding stuff in a powerbuilder project and comparing two different versions of your project.

[EDIT]

Since I'll probably be updating the app every now and then, I've uploaded everything to GitHub: objectsPB2021 and objectsPB2019

Any questions, just ask. You can get in touch with me right here, or on https://www.pb.miguell.work/ there should be a contact form.

regards.

MiguelL

[EDIT]

I forgot to say that I’m using Winmerge in this version, but you can use any other filecomparison tool such as Araxis’ Merge’s compare.exe or Meld,
and many others. As long as they have a commandline executable to compare two files. So, I’ve got Winmerge installed on my D:\ drive. You probably have to change that: - Just search on “winmerge” in the window and you’ll find what you have to adapt. Regards, MiguelL

(just for myself to take note: use filewriteEx and filereadEx instead of old-fashing 32kb loops).

(another note: instead of using txt files for the library list, allow to choose a workspace, and then a target to create the library list).

Miguel,

I'm still in PB 2019 R3. Will it be available for PB 2019R3 to check its usefulness to me?

Happiness Always

Hi Sivaprakash,

Of course, I'll make a 2019 version right now!

Give some time though, I'll let you know.
