Resolved Replace File during Unpacking

Hi all

I am deploying an application to a remote server (web) by packaging/unpackaging method.

There is no problem packaging it. However, i am having trouble finding where the unpackaging process on the remote server puts all the application files.

The reason why I need to know where is because I need to replace an INI file (dev vs UAT).

Hi CJ,

Please click the 'Browse' button on the 'File replace' window, then you can find the unpackage file path. It is %localappdata%\Temp\appeonsetup. For example: C:\Users\Appeon\AppData\Local\Temp\appeonsetup.
Please only use the Appeon Tool to modify the file instead of modifying it manually.

For the INI file, it will be deployed as a XML file and be deployed to Appeon DB on PowerServer, you can find it in %package%\ini\AppINI.xml. Please also don't change it manually. You can go to AEM > Application > PB Features > INI Files to edit the INI file.

Hi CJ;

  When you run the MSI on the remote machine where IIS & PS are installed, the MSI will ask you for the location of the application to be installed. I normally direct it to "c:\inetpub\wwwroot". If a previous App folder exists under "wwwroot", it will replace it's contents. If you have used a different location for your App(s), then select the main folder to which the App's folder(s) are attached from a previous install.

  FWIW: I always delete the existing App file folder(s) under IIS and then let the MSI install a "clean" copy of the PS App's updated files.
