When I come to the selection of location for SQL Anywhere engine, the selection box is empty, and I can't continue

Any good ideas?

Hi Regin;

      I am not sure if you realize this or not but SQLAnyWhere is no longer shipped with PowerBuilder in v2017 & higher. The agreement with SAP was only for PB & InfoMaker. However, you can download the free SA Developer version and if the PB 2017 installer sees that already installed, it will install the new demo database & then also align the PowerServer piece as well to that if you are also installing the PB 2017 Universal edition to that same demo DB.

      In case you missed the SA link - please use this to install SA v17 first, before you begin with the PB 2017 installation.

HTH

Regards ... Chris

Thanks a lot Chris. It was me not reading the full text on the screen. Now I can see that I have to install it manually :-)

Shouldn't Appeon be able to negotiate a deal directly with the SQL Anywhere folks to include the installer? If there is a free download on the SAP website then they should be willing to allow it to be included for free with PB.

It doesn't seem SAP is motivated to push SQL Anywhere, at least not to the PowerBuilder users.  We explored doing a bundling of the developer edition but it didn't work out.
