Hello,

I'm setting up Powerclient and have a couple of issues.

How do I get the desktop shortcut to be created with my icon and application name?  It shows the name I use on the server but does it have some setting for a 'freindly' name?  If I try to change the desktop icon manually it says there aren't any icon files in (app name).exe.

When I first install, I have to add 'index.html' to the url.  on my server, index.html is in the default docs list but it's the 3rd entry.  Same as on my Powerserver defaults.

Thanks

This is my application deployment folder

I click on uninstall.exe

It deletes everything from the folder.  I then deleted the empty folder 35.202.135...

the desktop shortcut doesn't show the icon.

As for my index.html issue.  index.htm was in my default docs list in iis.  I added index.html and it worked.

I can create the shortcut with a pre-install installshield package.  I have an ini file that I need to move from the current production folder to the Appdata folder.  Is there a way to launch a installshield exe or msi once when this is first run on a client machine?

Thanks

Hi William,

For the shortcut icon issue, please refer to Chris’s reply.

For the friendly name issue, we don't have a feasible workaround for this currently. But we will record it as a requirement in our CR pool. I will get back to you once we have a plan to support this feature.

For the index.html issue, just make sure the index.html is in the default docs list, and it has nothing to do with the order in the list.

ZhaoKai

Hi William;

Please try deleting the current client deployment. You should find these underneath the ...

"C:\Users\<WindowsLoginName>\AppData\Roaming\PBApps\Applications" folder

Then try another Full Build Deployment & run.

Hi William;

  Here is what I use in my PC Project to accomplish what you are asking ...

1) Makes sure that the .ICO file is listed in your Application Object within the App Painter with no path assigned. For example:

2) Include the .ICO file in your PC Project as follows:

3) Make sure that you requested that a short-cut is to be created. As defined in your PC Project, as follows:

HTH
