Hi

How do you install database drivers (and other shared resources) through PowerClient?

What's the best practice?

Before Powerclient I had a regular installer ( made with Wix ) which made a separate folder in program files. Therefore applications (and users) could share this folder. And if the app was updated then this shared folder wasn't affected.

It's possible I'm overlooking something but I think with PowerClient I can't simply say "Don't touch these dlls during update because they may be used with another application".

Hi Tomas;

  You can still use the WIX installer part for the DB Drivers. Just create a .BAT file to run the WIX part of the DB Client driver installation and then call the batch file from the PreLoad event as defined in the PC Project.  HTH
