Resolved Licencing question on PB universal (PowerServer PB Edition)

Hello All,

I am following this links:

I have a customer who have :
1  PB Universal Licence

3 PB Standard

I am helping them to create an internal Mobile APP (will be use only by the internal users so they will use appeon workgroup) 

If i understand correct they will need to apply for a Appeon Enterprise Account and if it is approved they will have a valid licence por PowerServer Mobile for unlimited users without any extra charges.

Please correct me if i am wrong

We have 2 universal licenses. Does that mean we have 2x3 = 6 powerserver licenses?

Hi Miguel,

No, the 3 x PowerServer (PB Edition) Standalone servers are granted per organization, independently of the number of Universal Edition subscriptions owned.

Hello,

What about individual freelancer who owns Powerbuilder Universal license ?   Can't they get these PS Mobile (PB edition) licenses ?

I'm an individual developer, not a corproate, got one Powerbuilder Universal license.  What options are there for me to have unlimited PS Mobile (PB edition) usage ?

PowerServer (PB Edition) Standalone is only granted to Legally constituted entities, such as a company with an enterprise email address.

The customer have bought the licence of PB Universal

Do the customer need to apply of the enterprise account to have a non limited PowerServer (PB edition)

currently i have a limit of 5 users only in the powerserver

Hi Andres,

In order to receive the 3 PowerServer (PB Edition) Standalone Servers:

1. The Organization must own a PowerBuilder Universal Subscription

2. The Order Owner under which the PowerBuilder Universal license is, must qualify for an Appeon Enterprise Account.

Could the Powerserver (PB edition) be installed in MS AZURE or other Cloud Service?

Sure,

when you run the PB 2017 R3 setup, just select PS (PB Edition) among the available packages.

Hi Andres,

your understanding is correct.

The Appeon Developer Program gives you 3 PowerServer Mobile (PB Edition) Standalone licenses if you own a valid PB Universal Edition and meet the eligibility requirements.

Then, according to the Fair Usage Policy (https://www.appeon.com/user/center/powerserver_mobile_fair_usage_policy), you have no license restrictions on the number of mobile devices (otherwise it would be max 5 devices).
