Starting this morning PowerBuilder is not starting up on my PC.  It is asking me to activate an offline license.  This is the first time this ever happened.  I do not know anything about it.  I try to activate but it does not work.  I currently am on PB 2017.  It was running fine at 1 A.M. this morning.  At 10 A.M. it did not run. 


When I try to run PB now I get a popup message asking me to activate an offline license


I follow the steps to activate, I go to the URL, I click on Submit and nothing comes back - either that or I am not looking in the right place.  I leave the Activatye wl


I have been using PB for years and this never happened before.  My business is dead without it.

Developing and supporting PowerBuilder applications is my complete business.  I work in PB for 10-16 hours a day 7 days a week.  Without it the business stops. 


I need help.  Why is it happening?  My subscription is good through at least June 20.  What do I need to do?

Dear All,

We just had a meeting and this is actually a "You are already logged in" issue, which is resolved by logging out the user's account.

The reason Jon thought it asked for an offline activation might be due to the logon window normally doesn't appear (automated login), and when it appeared last time it came with the error "You are already logged in" and at the bottom of the window there is an "Activate offline license" link.

Hi Jon,

If you are using an online license (the default option) it should not pop up message and ask you to do an offline license activation. 

I would recommend you have your license admin logout your license here:  https://www.appeon.com/user/center/index#logoutuser-pb

If you are still not able to use the software, then I would suggest you open a support ticket and request a web meeting session with our support staff so they can see what is going on in your machine.

Hi Jon;

     This should never happen unless someone has logged into the License System and changed the license type that you were assigned. That change could only come from your license administrator (in theory).  Please contact them and have them recheck your PB license assignment.

    If you are then still having trouble, please send and email to Support@Appeon.com to have them check.  You can also use the Appeon Website's "Chat" feature to talk directly to our sales team (9:00am to 5:00pm EST, Monday to Friday). They can also check your license information and status.
