Hello,

 

Is a simple way to generate a DataWindow object from an XML file? I have an XML file and can I quickly create/generate DataWindow based on this file structure ?

Hi Pawel;

  No, there is no current way to perform that DWO creation using XML or JSON for that matter. You can create a DWO from an ANSI result set (an old EAServer added feature for dealing with Java Apps). That works very well but of course, not what you need.

  There have been a few support tickets opened on this topic. These were converted to Product Enhancement requests and then passed over to the Engineering team. Thus far though, I have not seen this XML feature appear on the PB product road map.

this could be done via powerscript. The only problem is handling objects since datawindow is more or less a 2D table mapping. But for simple xml/json it is doable.

Thank you, everybody. I develop a solution to create dynamically from JSON in the newest PB 2022. It's work. Now, I waiting to migration my projects to PB 2022.
