Hi,

I'm currently using PB 2019, build 2170, and the runtime application is running locally on the client computers: All the neccessary files are simply copied to a folder on the local drive. Though somewhat 'old-school', this has been working for years, but under the last update something went wrong on one of the clients. The application was probably running, and some of the local files weren't updated.

I tried again and got the application working, but when I open a report with a "composite" data window it doesn't show the full page, only a very small "patch" in the top left corner - see attachment - and I can't find how to change it.

This happens on all composite DW's, regardless of who is logged on to the computer, but only on this particular computer. It works fine on others. I've tried computer restart, deleting all the app. files and copying them again etc. but it is still the same.

Apparently, something got messed up on local the computer during the failed update attempt. Does anybody know how to fix it?

Hi Ingar:

Composite datawindow normally displays in Print Preview mode, for the default printer set.   Can you change default printer and check whether it solves this issue?

Brilliant!

-The computer is connected to a label-printer and that one was set up as the default printer. I changed it and now it works.

Thanks a lot!

Hi Chris,

Corrupted or missing files was my first suspicion, so I deleted and copied all the files again, including DLL's etc. That normally solves such problems, but not in this case.

I searched for *.pbd and *.pbl on the entire C: drive on the affected machine to see if an obsolete version was hidden away somewhere, but found only the expected ones, with matching sizes and timestamps.

There must be something else. Can OS- / registry settings on the local machine cause this problem?

This makes no sense if you are deploying from s known App/PB Runtime image to the user's PC where in all the other machines, it works 100%. :-(

That's my feeling too. It must be the machine, not PB.

Thanks for your time, though :-)

Just another thought ... try updating the trouble machine's video driver.

Hi Ingar;

I suspect that the PB App's library(s) that contain the various DWO's that form the Composite DWO parent are missing. I would check each PBD library's date/time on the problem machine with the "master" version of the PB App and make sure that they are exactly the same size, date & time as expected.

HTH

Regards .... Chris
