Gents  - Following a very a similar question/issue at:

https://community.appeon.com/index.php/qna/q-a/pb-source-control-connections-a-blowup-and-none-at-all

... we have the same exact situation with missing Source Control options ("Add to Source Control") for GIT. I need to know how to get GIT to show up in the SC options dropdown. This article somewhat indicates that Vis Studio 2015 has GIT as a source control option (to be selected when installing Vis Studio, like for TFS? couldn't say yet):

https://cloudblogs.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2016/11/21/source-control-in-sql-server-management-studio-ssms/

If not via Vis Studio, then possibly GIT install has an option to set up GIT in the registry etc like TFS did to finally show up in dropdown?  Any input appreciated, thanks.

Hi John,

You won't see Git in SC options until you add the workspace to source control using the following button.

On the other hand, if you want to connect to the Git server, you need to start from an empty PB IDE using the Connect to Workspace button.

Tom Jiang

Our TFS admins created a Git repo from our TFS repo. When I try to connect to workspace in the new Git repo, it downloads all my source to my local. But the workspace is not created and when I create one to add the local Git target to, the source control dropdown in the properties does not have a selection for Git. Do I have to upload my TFS source code to Git from PB? Is that the only way to get Git setup?

Sorry for the late reply! Yes, it is true that you need to create a bare repo on TFS and then use the "Add to source control" menu on PB IDE to upload your workspace to the server before other users can connect to the server and download the workspace using PB IDE on their machines.
