I have a server with the PB2017 R2 run times installed.  I want R3 run times. What is the procedure for this?  Must I uninstall R2 run times first?  Or can I install over the top of R2.  Or can I simply copy the ...shared/Powerbuilder directory from a server which has R3? We install all run time options due to the number and variety of PB apps running on the servers.

I am probably making this way to hard.

Thanks!

Hi Mark;

  All three alternatives should be OK to use. Its basically what your operations personnel would prefer - procedure wise - for production deployment.

  If you have Apps though that require different versions of the PB run-time. Then a copy deployment to have the PB run-time files in the App's EXE folder would be required in order to support R2 & R3 execution on the same PC.

Regards ... Chris
