As explained in the subject. Is there a explanation for this? This goes for all 3 project types. Powerbuilder, PowerClient and PowerServer.

Let me just mark it as 'resolved'. It's not very important to know exactly 'why', but I was just curious. I don't think Appeon is going to investigate their compiler to answer this question.

regards.

Hi Miguel,

FYI and from the PB help:

"Enable DEBUG symbol:

Select to enable any code that you placed in DEBUG conditional code blocks. For more information, see Using the DEBUG preprocessor symbol."

Hi Miguel;

  That's a long ago behaviour way back to the early Sybase days of PB or even late PowerSoft days. I'm not sure exactly why. My guess is that it might be related to when the PB IDE was built with the Watcom C++ compiler before they migrated to the MS C++ compiler.

Regards ..  Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for answering. Yes, I know it goes way back. It's only recently that I noticed, since I've decided to finally put a little bit more trust in 'incremental' builds and actually use them. (you know that initially, long time ago, the incremental build wasn't very trust worthy and it was "baked in" for me not to use them).

regards
