I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find it.

For PB 2019, which of the Rich Text options in the application object is the one that is the same as the one in PB 12.x?

Hi Roland,

#1. For the issue TE Edit DLLs are required to be deployed even though the app is set to use the TX Text Control.

No matter whether it is TX or TE control you are using, the PBRTC190.DLL is required. We need to modify the documentation about this.

As for the dependence to the PBTXTEXT190.DLL, it is a bug. We will fix this in a later PB version.

Regarding other DLLs (PBTCTEXT190.DLL,SSGP.DLL, TER25.DLL), I tested and verified that it is OK for you to remove them in your test case.

#2. For the PBTHEME190.DLL issue, we can reproduce it and it is also a bug. We will fix this in a later PB version.

Regards,

Mark Lee

Hi Roland,

Base on our last analysis, we can't remove the dependence on the PBTXTEXT190.DLL when using the TX TEXT Control.

We will modify the documentation about this. And we will change the help documentation like the following:

Rich text support with the OEM version of TX Text Control:

pbrtc190.dll, PBTXTEXT190.dll, tp4ole15.ocx, tp15.dll, tp15_bmp.flt, tp15_css.dll, tp15_doc.dll, tp15_dox.dll, tp15_gif.flt, tp15_htm.dll, tp15_ic.dll, tp15_ic.ini, tp15_jpg.flt, tp15_obj.dll, tp15_pdf.dll, tp15_png.flt, tp15_rtf.dll, tp15_tif.flt, tp15_tls.dll, tp15_wmf.flt, tp15_wnd.dll

Rich text support with TE Edit Control:

For 32-bit:

pbrtc190.dll, PBTCTEXT190.dll, TER25.dll, WRS9.dll, spell32.dll, PDC32.dll, WRW9.dll, HTS20.DLL, ssts.dll, SSGP.dll, TXML2.dll

For 64-bit:

pbrtc190.dll

I ask because that is what I am using but it isn't working unless I include the dll files that the help file claims are for the TE Edit Control.

Both of these things you mentioned sound like bugs to me. Could you please open two support tickets... one for each issue. Thanks.

I created bug 2972 for the slowness issue last week. Someone else created bug 2994 for the same thing. I'll create one for the Rich Text issue.
