PB v12.1, build 7055
32 bit application created

This is STUPID!!!!!
I've always believed that any app created with PowerBuilder v12.x and below MUST use a 32 bit Oracle Client in order to connect with an Oracle database, regardless of the bitness of the database itself?

Is that correct?

We've just released a huge upgrade onto Citrix.
The Citrix box has the old v4_4 that is running smoothly.
The new v4_5 is having difficulty in connecting to the new database.

Citrix guy tells me they only have ONE Oracle client on the platform, a 64 bit Oracle Client 11.2.0.3.

???????????????

Thanks,

Olan

PowerBuilder 12.1 only creates 32bit apps so it must use a 32bit database client. The bitness must match.

It should be possible to install both Oracle Clients. If they refuse to install the 32bit Oracle Client, you'll have to upgrade to PB 2017 and compile a 64bit application.

That's what I thought!

Thank you for the confirmation!
