Hi all,

My questions are about PBORCA and pbc.exe license models. PB2017's documentation says that Orcascript may be used "freely outside of PowerBuilder IDE". What this means? Can we use pborca freely without valid license on PB2017, since for our application PB IDE is not so required?  In early versions of PB this feature was protected by SYSAM's license that prevents its usage on the remote customer's machine. And what is the case now for PB2017?

Thanks in advance,

Many thanks for your answers, colleagues

But still, is there any official reference (i.e. web) or some other stuff about valid license on pborca or orcascript (what possible and impossible etc.)?

Our application is closely related with PBORCA functions and right answer to this question is very important for us.

Just get a free trial version and try for yourself.  That's the safest way.

Hi Alexander;

  Yes, both ORCAScript and the PBC are free to use on other PC's as Roland mentions.

However, the ORCA API Toolkit is only available to Appeon partners.

Het Chris, you never answered Andreas' question. What is 'ORCAScript API Toolkit'? The ...\SDK\ORCA folder has the needed files. As far as I know, ORCA was only restricted for a short period during the single digit version era. Is there something else for 'Partners'?

That is not restricted to partners.

That is the whole point of it's existence, it allows you to setup a separate build machine without having to use a license.
