If I wanted to have PowerBuilder apps deployed in both web and mobile environments, do I need to have the server sides on separate machines or can they both run together?

Hi Roland,

The most cost-effective way (from a software licensing perspective) would be to use the non-perpetual mobile server runtime that is included in the PowerBuilder 2017 Universal Edition for your mobile apps and then purchase a perpetual license of the Appeon Web product to deploy to the Web browser or as IWAs (Installable Web Apps).  Under this most cost-effective scenario since the two deployment options are not under the same licensing policy (one is a non-perpetual license while the other is a perpetual license) they cannot (at this time) be installed to the same server.  So to make a long story short you would need to install on separate servers.  Of course, we do sell perpetual licenses of Appeon Mobile in case it is important to install on the same server or have a perpetual license for both the Appeon Web and Appeon Mobile deployments.

Regards,
Armeen
