Thanks for coming up with a chromium based web browser component. We were reviewing 2019 R2 Beta Build 2279 and have a couple of questions with the control and its features.

  1. Are you planning to enhance this control in the next PowerBuilder releases ?
  2. If Yes, when are you planning to expose the document / DOM elements to PowerBuilder code ?
  3. Any plans to expose the JavaScript functions and callbacks ?
  4. What other features can we expect for this browser control in the future releases ?

Thanks

Hi Kishore,

  1. Yes, we are planning to continue enhancing the new WebBrowser control after the initial release.
  2. We have not yet researched exposing the DOM elements to PowerBuilder code directly so I cannot comment if there is good chance we will do this.  If you think this will be a popular enhancement, please send this suggestion to the product management team by emailing product@appeon.com.
  3. Yes, we do plan to support integration between JavaScript code in the WebBrowser control and PowerScript in your app.  I cannot comment on details of any limitations at this time since this enhancement is in research phase.
  4. A lot of our roadmap and enhancements depends on customers using the new features and giving us feedback.  So at this point it is too early to say exactly what enhancements are planned.  #3 is an obvious thing we should do so we already began researching this without waiting for customers to request.  After you finish evaluating the beta version, please let our product management team know what enhancements you think are valuable (no matter for the WebBrowser control or any other new feature) by emailing product@appeon.com.

Regards,
Armeen
