Hello

I have inherited an insurance application written in Powerbuilder 9.
(PowerGen® Version 8.0.1.00 for PowerBuilder® V9.0, PowerBuilder ORCA Version: 9.0.3.8836)

The application is still running without any issues on CITRIX/Windows Server 2008/SQL Server 2008R2 and supports several Production clients.

Initially I'd like to update the PowerBuilder code to a more recent supported version.
Appreciate this maybe a substantial project but if anyone can advise if this is possible and if so point me in the right direction of some helpful documentation on upgrade paths/processes or even a third party consultancy with experience in this area.

Many thanks

The most common issue you may face is related to unicode. PB 10+ versions are unicode.

Andreas.

Adding to what John said, also watch this video: https://www.appeon.com/developers/library/videos/migrating-powerbuilder-2018.html

If your app uses PFC, updated PFC libraries are here: https://github.com/OpenSourcePFCLibraries
