Hi.

Is it just me, or is the autocompiler (pbc170.exe) very unstable?

I've tried it 7-8 times, and only once have the compiler created a working exe-file.

But every time it crashes with a Windows error message "the application has stopped working".

The same codebase deploys as normal in the Appeon PowerBuilder 2017 (MR01) IDE on the same server.

Windows 2012 Server R2, 32 GB RAM, all the latest windows updates.

Hello,

I have the same issue on Windows 7 64 bit. An application is deployed successfully using PB17 (build1681), but pbc170 crashes when it tries to create an exe file. All PBDs though seem to be created. Unfortunately, there is no hint on what might case the issue...

Best regards,
Konstantin

Hi Bjarne;

      I have been using the PBC on W10 with no issues. I only find it a pain though with all the restrictions on various PB Project object features that are not yet supported by the PBC. Remember, like the PB IDE, the PBC is not designed for use with MS-Windows Server O/S's.

Note: A new release of the PBC will be coming out with PB2017R2 later this month. The new release should support all the PB Project settings as well as some fixes (which might be your issue)

Regards .. Chris

FWIW, I've been using orca scripts to compile PB 2017 with no issues.

Hello Mike,

Could you tell me how you keep in sync the lists of libraries specified in your orca batch file with the list of libraries listed in a target file? FWIU, I need to list my libraries twice in the orca script file: in the sequence of "set appendlib" commands and in the sequence of "build library" commands, which seems crazy. I really hope there is a better way of doing this!

Best regards,

Konstantin

Okay, I figured out that I can get rid of the sequence of "set appendlib" commands using an scc command, but I still need to list all libraries in the sequence of "build library" commands. Plus now I also need to specify pbdflags in the "build executable" command, which is my case is a string of 113 "y"s... I was wondering if there is a way of saying "build an exe with all PBLs listed in a target as PBDs"...
